Discover, Develop and Display!
We all know that healthy, energized youth are essential for a vibrant community. As future leaders and community members, our youth have incredible talent and potential, but sometimes they need extra help finding their voice. Danbury Arts in Action offers arts mentoring programs and community arts classes for youth ages 7 and up so they can have the opportunity to discover, develop and display their talents.
For the creative learner, life is an ever-unfolding and interrelated process that leads to a greater understanding and experience of being human. Creative growth is necessary for youth to find out who they are, and once they do, they can give themselves to others, develop deep and meaningful relationships, and participate in and contribute to their community. Find out more about the benefits of mentoring through the arts here.
Community Arts Classes
Community Classes are lots of fun and encourage personal development and community involvement through music, dance, spoken word and yoga. Each session is six weeks and is free for any qualified student in the greater Danbury area. Classes are open open to any youth ages 7 and older. Through the Danbury Arts in Action monthly coffeehouse and open mic, students are invited to perform in events along with other local talent as participating members of the community.
